Review: Loft Marisa + Julie Pants

Funny to say, I would have to attribute my motivation, for finally writing this post, to two sources: availability and laundry. It would defeat the purpose of this post if these items are no longer available on the market. Hence this review needs to be written and published! *Please don't mind the obvious point; it's just something I tell myself to get the job done ; ).* And secondly, I prefer to have new clothes washed before wearing them. Stack of items accumulate from various shopping trips, looking quite disheveled and unsightly in my closet, is no bueno!

1) Marisa Straight Leg Pants in Flat Wool Twill (00P)
Pros:
  • fully lined (100% polyester)
  • nice luxe flat wool material (69% wool, 31% polyester)
  • belt loops
  • comes with an extra button
  • nice medium dusty rose which can be paired with various colors
Cons:
  • sits lower on waist
  • non-functional front and back pockets
  • dry clean only
  • a little roomy in the legs and behind (if I were to nit-pick...but it is a "Straight Leg Pant" after all)
Verdict: purchased for $9.88 in store (originally $79.50)

This was the last one I saw at my store; check out your local LOFT if you're interested!

2) Marisa Slim Ankle Pants in LOFT Scuba (00P; black)
Pros:
  • 24" inseam
  • very nice material (LOFT Scuba fabric—its slightly thicker, textured stretch weave supports and smoothes for a flawless fit)
  • side zip closure
  • fits nicely and sleek overall
Cons:
  • sits lower on waist
  • unlined
  • no pockets and belt loops (if I were to nit-pick)
Verdict: purchased for $32.50 (originally $79.50)

This pant would be perfect if it were lined and sat a little higher on the waist; nonetheless, it is still my most favorite out of the five!

3) Marisa Ankle Pants in Tile Print Doubleweave Cotton (00P)
Pros:
  • neutral print
  • nice material (97% cotton, 3% spandex)
  • fits nicely in the waist and legs; not tight
  • 27" inseam (this pant fits similarly to the 24" inseam in #2; hits nicely right at ankle for someone 4'11")
Cons:
  • sits lower on waist
  • unlined
  • non-functional pocket
Verdict: purchased for $24 (originally $79.50)

This is a fun and trendy piece that can be dressed up or down. It's currently on clearance for $9.88 in store!

4) Marisa Skinny Pants in Ponte (00P)
Pros:

  • rich jewel tone color
  • stretchy and thick enough to hide undergarment lining
  • smooth, soft, and comfortable ponte material
  • hugs body nicely
Cons:
  • sits lower on waist
  • visible back seam behind knees
  • bunching at ankles

Verdict: purchased for $9.88 in store (originally $69.50)

I'm excited to wear this as a legging as it hugs tightly against my legs. It'd be perfect to pair with tunics or oversized sweaters/tops during the cold days because the ponte material is ultra comfortable. If you're interested in this particular one, check out your local LOFT. It's currently on clearance for $9.88!

5) Julie Slim Ankle Pants in LOFT Scuba (00P)
Pros:
  • 24" inseam
  • same material as in #2
  • sits a little higher on the waist
  • Brick Red looks true to color as shown in stock image
Cons:
  • very roomy in the legs and behind
  • longer than the 24" inseam in #2
Verdict: returned
